New Organization Alert: Alpha Education!

Alpha Education, founded in 1977 is a group of educators, activists and volunteers whose mission is to foster awareness of an often overlooked aspect of World War II history. They cover a wide variety of topics such as the Nanking Massacre, “Comfort Women” issue as well as atrocities related to the Japanese-American conflicts and Southeastern Asian conflicts. Through various methods including workshops, research, and connecting with the community, they aim to promote justice, peace and reconciliation through education.

There are currently 5 ALPHA university chapters led by students, e.g. University of Toronto and we are looking for students to set up a chapter in UBC. The university chapter will be organizing events in UBC such as film screenings, photo exhibitions, bake sales and so on. More information on what the University Chapters do can be found here: https://www.alphaeducation.org/university-chapters. If interested, please contact yunjihwang6@gmail.com
