異鄉人:海外生活故事分享 | Life Across the Sea: Stories of International Students

UBC Hua Dialogue will be hosting an event exploring Life Across the Sea – stories of international students and immigrants, co-hosted by the Taiwan International Student Movement (TISM). This special event includes a new “Human Library” session, where you will hear amazing stories from invited speakers who have studied abroad in different countries/regions. They will share their joys and sorrows living in foreign lands.

時光匆匆,歲月荏苒。回想你第一次踏上異域他鄉時,心裡曾懷抱著怎樣的憧憬?時至今日,又收穫了哪些意料之外的驚喜?在或長或短的海外生活中,關於夢想與遺憾,留戀與未來,你有什麼特別的故事想要與大家分享嗎?
溫哥華時間2月6日下午6點,UBC Hua Dialogue對話將攜手台灣境外生權益小組(TISM),帶來“真人圖書館”x對話“特別活動。在“真人圖書館”環節,我們邀請了在不同國家/地區留學或生活過的講者,以自己為書,講述身處異國他鄉的見聞與悲歡。屆時你將有機會聆聽到分享者人生書頁上一個個精彩絕倫的故事,透過他們的聲音,感受人在異鄉和喜怒悲歡。我們也保留了傳統的對話單元,以大組討論的對話形式讓你有機會分享自己的故事,或對講者提出自己的問題。

注意:正式活動的真人圖書館部分將于溫哥華時間6:30 pm/台北時間10:30 am開始。溫哥華時間6 pm/台北時間10 am開始,有半小時的破冰(ice-breaking)小組討論,為非必須參加。

你不需要準備任何發言,我們鼓勵你將自己的經歷和對「華人」這一概念的思考結合起來,與大家在相互尊重的基礎上交流想法。你可以使用你最熟悉的語言(國/普、粵、英)進行分享,我們將提供翻譯。

Time flies and things change. Looking back on the first time you came across the sea, what expectation did you have in mind? So far, have you received any surprising results unexpectedly? In your life of studying abroad, are there any special stories you would like to share with us regarding your dreams and regrets? What are the things that you feel deeply attached to the past and what are things you are looking forward to exploring in the future?
On February 6th, 6 P.M. Vancouver time, UBC HUA Dialogue presents a special jointevent, “Human Library x Dialogue”, co-hosted with Taiwan International Student Movement (TISM). In the “Human Library” session, you will have the chance to hear from various invited speakers who have studied abroad in different countries/regions. They will present themselves as open books, sharing the joys and sorrows living in foreign land, telling some of the most amazing stories in their life journey. Our traditional Dialogue session will be KEPT. You can share your stories and ask your questions to our speakers during our Large Group Discussion.

Attention: The first thirty minutes of this event is optional small group discussion for the purpose of ice-breaking. “Human library” will begin at 6:30 PM, Vancouver time/10:30 AM Taipei time.
